Alt-folk singer-songwriter and musician Lawson Hull is a new addition to these pages, but he’s definitely one we’d like to hear more of in the future!

The curiously titled Canada “17” is our first outing with Lawson – it’s a pretty folk song with a subtle quality. The main instrumentation comes from a simple acoustic guitar melody, strummed along in the background behind Lawson’s stunning vocals. His voice changes between quiet low notes on the verses and a higher pitch when the chorus arrives, with some lovely backing vocals also appearing occasionally. You can find the video here:
