I’ve been getting more into jazz and classical music recently, so discovering Martin Kohlstedt’s mix of the two genres was a great find!

VIM starts out sounding like a contemporary classical piece, opening with a flowing piano melody that’s utterly beautiful. However, the backing effects add more of a jazzy sound, even though the track keeps more in line with the classical genre as it progresses. The tension is slowly built up over the course of the piece, creating a subtle sense of beauty and power that will overwhelm you. The video is also well worth a watch – find it below!
