Camden punk indie-rockers The Graft are primed to set the world on fire with their own brand of rock and roll goodness! I recently had the opportunity to review their single, It’s Too Late & It’s Ok – it’s fair to see that I really enjoyed it! This is a band doing something a little different from the norm, which is something that should definitely be applauded! Find out more about The Graft below…

How was your 2022?
2022 was incredible! After lockdown preventing us from releasing any music, we finally got in the studio and got our music out there. We did about 12 gigs and had our first radio interview!
We’re just warming up, 2023 should be even more incredible!
You recently released a single titled It’s Too Late & It’s Ok, which we reviewed. What can you tell us about the single?
It’s about having someone special, catching them with someone else and how you’ll get over it somehow. Maybe even with a drink or two at night. We’ve all been there when you’re with someone when you find out they’re messing about with someone else.
How has the reception been for the single, and where can it be purchased?
Pretty positive overall as we have had some great reviews and the fans seem to love it when we play live.
We love it that so many people are ‘avin our tunes, particularly the English and Swiss fan base. Keep on Grafting!!!!
Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?
It’s Too Late & It’s Ok was our third release in 2022, after Jenny and Birkenstock. We want to focus on our debut album before releasing any more singles.
Are there any plans to release an EP or album?
We are back in 123 Studio in Peckham in March to record the final three songs. Then we’ll be able to unleash our album on the world!
Your music has an indie rock sound mixed with punk and alt rock. What/who influences you most as artists? What have you been listening to recently?
We are influenced by a mixture of classic Britpop (Libertines, Verve, Rifles), modern indie (Yard Act, Shame, Fat Whites, Nat the Hammer) and even some American flavours (Tragically Hip, Cake).
In the studio recently we definitely channeled our inner Happy Mondays and Hot Chip to get some new vibes going.
What do you think is the biggest issue in the music industry at the moment?
The biggest issue is there aren’t as many super cool bands anymore. Social media helps all new bands, but it’s destroying rock n roll. Most kids today want to sit behind their computers taking selfies and sticking them on Instagram. It’s a fucking disgrace.
Todays music is bland and wank, no fucking balls to it.
You’re based in Camden. What is the local music scene like?
Camden used to be the centre of the indie universe! The punk scene, Britpop, Amy winehouse, Camden lock. It’s not quite the same any more,
The independent live scene is still happening! There are loads of great little venues. We learnt our trade at those venues: The Dublin Castle, Fiddlers Elbow, The Good Mixer. Legendary places!
Do you have any UK tour dates lined up?
As soon as the album is done we will be unleashing our new songs on the world. Watch this space. Summer 2023 will be ours!
Any last words for the fans?
He who grafts last, grafts longest!
