How was your 2022?

My 2022 was great and most of all a year of growth both personally and musically. Also, I finally finished my debut album Pink Skies and I got to play the first few shows with the band. Completely loved it and can’t wait to really get this going in 2023!

You recently released a single titled Come Find Me. What can you tell us about the track?

Come Find Me is my debut single and it was produced by my dear friend Boudewijn Pleij. We did the whole album together and Come Find Me is one of my favorites. It’s a track about unity and togetherness. I really enjoyed creating this one – it just flowed.

How has the reception to Come Find Me been so far, and where can the song be purchased?

The reception has been amazing and a bit unexpected to be honest. Blogs from all over the world wrote about it and it was played on multiple international radio stations, including Vibes FM from London! I also received lots of heartwarming messages and videos of people vibing to it. Love to get those! The single can be streamed on every online platform.

Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?

Yes definitely – I am releasing more singles soon and my album Pink Skies is also set for release later this year. The next single is called Gazing. I don’t have an exact release date yet, but it will be really soon.

Do you plan to release an EP or an album anytime soon?

Yes, this year I will be releasing my debut album Pink Skies.

Your music has a reggae sound. What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?

Life in general inspires me. I love walking around and just letting my thoughts flow. My inspiration comes when I’m on the beach or in the woods, just listening to all the sounds and feeling it.

Of course, I also get a lot of inspiration from music. I grew up with reggae music and hip-hop, so that’s the main source of my inspiration musically speaking, but I listen to lots of different genres. My favorite artists growing up were Bob Marley, Burning Spear, 2Pac and J. Cole. Lately, I’ve been listening a lot to Marcus Gad, Tinariwen and Salif Keita.

What do you think is the biggest issue in the music industry at the moment?

I don’t really think there is a big issue in the industry now. Making and releasing music is easier than it ever was before, which is beautiful because you encounter many sounds, ideas and people because of this. The downside to it is that, as an artist, it may be hard to reach an audience because of the ‘competition’ – although I must say I don’t really see it that way.

Where are you based? What is the music scene like in your part of the world?

I am based in the Netherlands and the scene here is nice. I don’t know any better, I would love to play shows in different countries to compare.

Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?

I don’t have any tour dates lined up in the UK yet, but I would really really love to come and play there. Hopefully, I will see you guys soon!

Any last words for the fans?

Thanks so much for listening to Come Find Me and supporting me. It means a lot. I got a lot of music coming this year, would love to come and do a show in the UK. Love!
