We’ve featured New York artist Alec Berlin a few times recently, and each track just seems to get better and better!
By Jane Howkins
Minir Mead is Alec’s latest release, and it’s also instrumental, like most of the other songs we’ve heard from here. The rhythm drives the track forwards, as a bluesy lead guitar lick runs through the piece, progressing the music towards its satisfying conclusion. The main guitar acts as something of a vocal line, twisting and turning occasionally to add a little spice to the track. It even takes on a ska edge at one point, showing just how talented Alec really is!
