I’ve heard a few songs by British singer-songwriter Tommy Ashby of late, and each one just sounds better and better!

Running is another folk song, but it’s a little different to the other tracks I’ve shared here, as it’s more upbeat. The drums are rather fast-paced, with the frantic nature of the piece suiting the themes of the music well. Lots of little piano and guitar motifs play along together in the background – there’s a lot going on here, so you do need to listen to it a few times to get everything! Tommy’s vocals have that lovely soft quality I’ve come to love from his music, making it sound truly beautiful.
