Surinamese/Dutch folk-pop singer-songwriter néomí has been a bit of a mainstay on these pages in recent months, but it’s for good reason!

I could never leave shows just why we love néomí’s music so much. It’s a stripped-down folk song with a slow acoustic guitar melody that acts as the main instrumentation for the piece. The occasional piano note can be heard at times, playing along in a simple way. The chorus is particularly beautiful, seeing a raft of gorgeous backing vocals appear against the lead vocals, making the entire thing sound haunting. This is one of my favourite néomí songs yet!
