You recently released a single titled Me. What can you tell us about the track?
It’s a call to action. It practically wrote itself because it came along at a time when I was done taking shit from everyone and everything. I mean… I was completely on one that day. It came pouring out and it’s been my mantra ever since!
How has the reception to Me been so far, and where can the song be purchased?
It’s been great! Amazing feedback and reviews and I came out swinging for my debut so I’m pleased! It can be streamed on all digital platforms and purchased on Bandcamp or my website: badassbeauty.org
It’s your debut single! How was the writing and recording process?
Yessss!!! It was incredible. I got a very unexpected DM from a college associate, Anthony Gemignani, asking me to come check out his recording facility and guitar shop – Allstar Music Empire in Flemington, NJ. I did and we had a great time catching up and tossing some ideas around. A spark happened and we began writing. The rest is history!!
Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?
Oh yeah. The single 4 Horsemen is being released on March 24th…then there will be a single out every month subsequently leading to the full album release.
You have an album coming out soon titled 4 Horsemen. What can you tell us about the album?
Oh wow. It’s chaos. It’s grand. It’s fucking beautiful. It’s aggressive. It’s groundbreaking. It’s different. It’s fun. It’s my heart and soul sprawled out for the world to see. It’s deeply satisfying and I hope the world loves it as much as I do.
Your music mixes soul and hard rock together. What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?
I listen to EVERYTHING. Music from the 50’s through to today’s music. All genres. All styles. I love to experiment with all kinds of different influences and sounds. I struggle for that very reason because ideas are swimming in my head from everywhere and I have a tendency to be scattered at times. Rock is my performance muse though. Now I am ridiculously influenced by Beyonce and a metal band called In This Moment. I’m excited to see what madness ensues when I begin writing for my next album!!
Why did you decide to release your music under the Bad Ass Beauty name instead of as a solo artist?
Bad Ass Beauty is a whole vibe. It’s a movement. It’s me, it’s my band and it’s anyone and everyone who listens to it
Where are you based? What is the music scene like in your part of the world?
Los Angeles. It’s lit! It’s eclectic! It’s Los Angeles for fucks sake!!!
Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?
Oooh… I’m starting this project from the ground up. I’m releasing music now and as I’m answering these questions, I’m working on putting a band/show together. I’ll be crossing the ocean within a year or so! Be ready for me!
