It’s been almost four years since we last shared music from Canadian songstress Amelie Patterson, so it’s great to hear from her again!

The War is a gorgeous folk song with a hauntingly beautiful sound. It’s characterised by a pretty fingerpicked guitar melody, although a quiet bassline can be heard in the background at times if you really listen. The main stand out moment is Amelie’s vocals – she’s got a great range and she sure knows how to use it! The verses are lower than the choruses, which see her voice really rise up and shine. This is an amazing track and it sounds beautiful as all hell throughout.
