Discovery: David Barber

Instrumental music sometimes gets a bit of a bad rep, but when it’s as good as Molly’s Eyes, it simply demands to be heard!

Canadian musician David Barber adds a quirky taste to the instrumental guitar genre on this release. Molly’s Eyes is a bluesy rock and roll song with something of a 50s sound to it, although the rhythm is actually rather jazzy. The bass and drums sound like something straight out of a jazz trio, mixing well with the gorgeous guitar tones that David manages to work out of his instrument. It’s nice and upbeat too, with the quirky vibes making the track really stand out. If you’re curious, take a listen here:
