Discovery: Eydis Evenson

Icelandic composer and pianist Eydis Evenson is another neoclassical discovery of mine, conjuring up wonderful images in the mind with her new piece, Tranquillant. The main melody comes from the piano, but there are also a slew of other orchestral elements in the background of the track, adding more texture and layers to the piece. It sounds incredibly beautiful throughout, and the video is well worth a watch too – you can find it here:
