You released a single titled Friends in Towns. What can you tell us about the track?
I think it’s the best song I’ve written. It’s got some lovely chords, and it gets across the feeling across pretty directly – the feeling of wondering what a friend is.
It’s been with me for a while. A bit like a little sad friend that wouldn’t go away. I’m glad he stuck around.
How has the reception to Friends in Towns been so far, and where can the song be purchased?
It’s been really nice! Earmilk and Clout wrote some really nice reviews!
You can buy/stream wherever you like to do that, but here’s my Spotify:

Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?
Yes very soon! In fact, literally days away. Stay tuned!
Are there any plans to release a full-length album or an EP?
Maybe, maybe… You’ll be the first to know.
The track has a gorgeous piano singer-songwriter sound. What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?
I’ve been enjoying a lot of ambient music this year. More Brazilian music too. Plus all the usuals; Prefab Sprout, Blue Nile etc.
Here’s a playlist I keep updated with what I’m currently listening to: open.spotify.com…6b41e5
Do you have anything else exciting coming up this year?
Live shows, remixes, weird videos and that kind of thing!
Where are you based? How is the local music scene faring at the moment?
I’m based in Lisbon at the moment. It’s a beautiful city. I saw a lovely noisy Portuguese band called Sunflowers recently. I still feel like I’ve got so much to explore here.
What do you think is the most challenging aspect for someone working in the music industry at the moment?
Oh god, maybe doing a lot of unhealthy comparing ourselves to others? Or maybe the fact that, you know, there’s zero money.
I think it’s helpful to remember that it’s not a zero sum game. If one great song gets made, it doesn’t stop another great song from existing. Let’s help each other a little guys.
Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?
UK, not yet!
