Be prepared to be transported back to 1959 as the NETheatre York production of Grease the Musical comes to the Joseph Rowntree Theatre, York, from 25-29 July.
It’s the senior year at Rydell High. After a whirlwind summer romance Danny and Sandy thought they would never see each other again. But all that is now about to change as a new school year begins.
Follow the T Birds and the Pink Ladies through their final year in the must-see musical Grease with fantastic songs such as Summer Lovin’, We Go Together, Greased Lightning and You’re The One That I Want.
Finley Butler and Maia Beatrice take on the roles of Danny and Sandy with MeIissa Boyd as bad girl Rizzo and Calum Davis as Kenickie.
With a cast of 60, Rydell High has never been so colourful and as always with NETheatre their productions are always an experience – whether it’s the glitter station at the theatre or the Grease Mega-Mix Party at the end of the production.
Just as Grease is the word, NETheatre York is the name. The company formerly known as NE has undergone a name change to NETheatre York.
This latest production follows winning Best Event at the YorkMix Choice Awards 2023 for its production of Lionel Bart’s Oliver! at the Joseph Rowntree Theatre.
The award-winning trio from Oliver! and Into the Woods of creative director/producer Steve Tearle, musical director Scott Phillips and choreographer Ellie Roberts are together again for the production of Grease the Musical.
