Portland, Maine, USA-based singer songwriter Libby Thompson has just hit my radar thanks to her raw and emotional new pop track Low Bar.
By Graeme Smith
Libby’s single is a soulful and sultry one akin to the likes of Amy Winehouse and Jorja Smith. There’s a pop vibrancy to its instrumental arrangement but it’s Libby’s vocals that steal the show. They’re rich with a relatable sense of emotion and timeless character.
Having grown up around music, Libby released her debut EP in 2015. Now signed to Off Center Music, her new EP is on the way this summer.
Low Bar is the second single release from Libby’s upcoming EP, made with Grammy-winning producer Dave Gutter and Bensbeendead, Libby’s brother and band mate in their electronic pop duo EMRLD. You can give it a listen below.
