Mishka Rushdie Momen, one of the most exciting young pianists of today and winner of Classical Breakthrough Artist in The Times Arts Awards 2021, performs as artist-in-residence at this year’s Ryedale Festival in a trio of dazzling concerts showcasing her virtuosity in both solo and chamber settings.
Mishka teams up with fellow artist-in-residence and superstar Korean violinist Bomsori Kim for an evening of Beethoven violin sonatas to kick off her residency, displaying the composer’s profound understanding of and ability to combine the two instruments he played with astonishing originality and invention. The piano prodigy then travels through four centuries of music in a solo concert that sees everything from Byrd to Prokofiev performed, before bringing her friends violinist Tim Crawford and cellist Tim Posner along for an unmissable final concert of romantic chamber music from Smetana, Schumann and Mendelssohn.
