Canadian rocker Daniel Monte is a new discovery of mine, but I’ll definitely be checking out more of his music in the near future!

Play Your Cards Right is instantly catchy, opening with a glorious guitar melody and some amazing vocal harmonies, setting the tone for the track well. It’s quite poppy at times, although Daniel also adds in elements of classic rock, pop-rock and even folk music. The song breaks down towards the end with a surprising yet gorgeous piano motif, building back up to a slightly heavier sound. It’s an extremely well written song, covering many different genre boundaries. Check out Play Your Cards Right here:
