Canadian indie rockers New Friends are fast becoming one of my favourite bands at the moment, and Sad Sugar shows exactly why they’re so good!

New Friends have a real knack for writing catchy pop songs with a rock edge, and Sad Sugar is no different! The main chord sequence is incredibly infectious, repeating during the verses with a palm-muted guitar riff. The chorus explodes with sound, creating something incredibly anthemic that will have you singing along straight away. The vocals are very passionate, especially on the chorus, seeming really clear throughout. New Friends are definitely a band on their way to the big time!
