One of my favourite classical pianists, Claire Bigley, has teamed up with Helen Green to produce a stunning new piece of neoclassical music.

Shadowplay is the name of this collaboration, and it’s every bit as beautiful as you might expect! It’s very minimalist, featuring some sparse piano playing on both hands. The track opens slowly with a simple arpeggio, before the right hand melody joins in, drifting over the backing motif in a stunning way. It’s very stripped-down and sounds rather simplistic at first, but there’s a lot more going on here than first meets the ear. It’s hauntingly beautiful in a subtle way, creeping underneath your skin in no time.
