Interview: Jane N’ The Jungle

We’ve been following rockers Jane N’ The Jungle for a while now, even conducting an interview with them a year ago. After listening to latest track Bed Of Roses, I decided it was high time we caught up with Jane again, to find out how they’ve been getting on since then. Read on below…

By Jane Howkins

It’s been over a year since we last spoke to you. How are you doing, and do you have anything exciting coming up on the horizon?

Hi! We are doing great! We were just in Nashville recording new music that we are really excited about! We have another single set to release this fall and getting ready for our Phoenix show on 9/7 with the Unlikely Candidates and our show at the Whisky A Go Go in LA on 9/20!

We recently reviewed your song Bed Of Roses. It’s an awesome rock and roll tune, showing the talent of the band. What can you tell us about the track?

Thank you so much for checking it out and for your review! Bed of Roses was a fun new direction we took sonically that we were excited to release. It was a collaboration we did with Max Haunt that started out as a demo at Cosmic Soup Recording in Phoenix and later turned into the final version after mixed with Chuck Alkazian at Pearl Sound Studios.

You also released a cool video for Bed Of Roses. How did that go, and what was the process like?

Ashley Akers helped me come up with a really cool makeup look using a bunch of little roses around my eyes and I had my hair styled by Roxy Gonzales, creating a big bun with small roses in it that helped tie the theme together. Jim Louvau shot the visualizer – it’s performance based with some close up shots that help to heighten the emotion.

How has the reception to the song been so far, and where can the track be purchased?

Bed of Roses has received great feedback which we are thrilled about, since it’s a completely different direction than our previous release Wasteland which came out earlier this summer.

Do you plan to release any more singles in the near future?

Yes, we are planning to release our next single this fall and an EP early next year!

Are there any plans to release an album or EP anytime soon?

We are planning to release an EP early next year and currently working on a full length album.

What is the writing and recording process like for you at the moment? Has it changed much over the years?

At the moment Brian and I have been doing a lot of recording at our home studio in Phoenix, working with different collaborations which has been different from our past recording process. We were recently in Nashville working with Cameron Mizell and we are excited to share what we have been working on!

You’re a duo. How do you manage to create such a full sound with just two people?

We are grateful to work with extremely talented musicians on stage that help bring our live performances to life.

Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?

Not currently, but we’re working on it and would love rock in the UK soon!

Any last words for the fans?

Thank you for all your support, it truly means the world to us! We look forward to seeing you guys at our upcoming shows and hope to add more tour dates soon. Also, we’re stoked to share more new music with you soon!
