January is rather stripped-down, sounding quite simplistic at first. However, it’s that beautiful that it really doesn’t need to be any more complicated. The main instrumentation comes from a strummed acoustic guitar melody that runs through the tune, but there are also some faint backing effects and a xylophone, adding more character to the tune. Jay’s vocals are soft and quiet, yet they suit the style of music really well, creating something rather beautiful at times. Why not give it a go?
