Discovery: CiaoTull3

It’s quite rare we get to listen to lo-fi music from Japan, so I was very excited to discover CiaoTull3 and his soothing sounds.

By Jane Howkins

Jiji in the sky opens with a nostalgic static sound, before the rest of the music kicks in. It’s a really dreamy sounding track, sounding perfectly produced throughout. The beat is steady as you might expect, with some clean guitar noodling going on in the background. However, it’s also quite unique in terms of the synthlines used – it’s quite busy for a lo-fi tune, with multiple layers of synths and keyboard effects weaving in and out of the music in perfect time. Jiji in the sky is a near perfect lo-fi tune, so check it out here:
