New York, USA-based Eva Westphal first came to our attention in the Spring of 2022 when I ran the rule over her EP, Beautiful Little Life. Earlier this year, she was back on this blog thanks to her single Understood, which I found to be a heady mix of sadness and celebration. Her latest single is called Adult and is dedicated to survivors of abuse and those who experienced abuse when they were younger.

The story of Adult is an exploration of what Eva would do if she could spend one day with her teenage self. Its lyrics work through the events of the day, all the time providing a reassuring warmth. The instrumentals are intimate and acoustic in the verse before building to a cathartic crescendo in the soaring chorus.
Eva has been writing music since the age of 13 inspired by the likes of Fleetwood Mac’s Stevie Nicks, Brandi Carlisle and Folklore-era Taylor Swift. Her music is already gaining her a lot of attention, and we’re certainly fans of hers here. I hope you will be too. You can check out Adult below.
