New York City, USA-based singer songwriter Eva Westphal has featured once before on our blog, thanks to her self-love focussed EP Beautiful Little Life. Now she’s back with new piece of acoustic pop that explores the feelings of isolation that can be brought about by sexuality. It’s called Understood.

Though the LGBTQ+ world is becoming more and more visible all the time, there’s still much work to do before members of its community feel as if they totally belong. This is what Eva explores in Understood, recalling situations where her lesbianism has set her apart from her straight friends. Yet, it’s not a sad song, with the chorus being a celebration of those who make her feel as if she belongs.
Understood is a beautifully delicate and thought-provoking song that demands a listen. You can check it out below.
