Playground is the second track I’ve now shared from Manchester-based rock band Nat Dempsey & The Near Strangers, and it shows a different side to the band’s sound. A much softer prospect, it tells the story of the angst related to leaving your small town.

Though softer than first single Run & Hide, there’s still a nice indie bite to Playground. It hits you straight away with strummed guitar and a lively drum beat. Nat’s charismatic vocals come in, painting a vivid picture of dead-end, small town living. The frustration of being held back by your surroundings is palpable.

Playground is another banger from a new band that will no doubt be getting a lot of attention in the very near future. You can give the track a listen below.
