Edie Yvonne is only 14, and yet she sounds extremely accomplished, producing music that is much better than many of her peers! On Your Mind really draw my attention – it’s an atmospheric country-pop tune with an urgent rhythm, creating a catchy sound in the process. Find out more about Edie here!

You recently released a new song called On Your Mind. What can you tell us about the track?
I wrote it when I was wondering how to reconnect with a loved one while feeling so detached, not even on the same page or wave length.
How has the reception to On Your Mind been so far, and where can it be purchased?
It is available to stream on all platforms. Please check it out on Spotify! I think it has been received well for its folk vibesy and also because it is short but sweet. It has been streamed the most aside from In the Rain, but the base for that song keeps growing, for which I am so grateful!
You have another single that just came out called Queen Bee, accompanied by a short film. What can you tell us about the song and film?
Ever since kindergarten, I and so many of my friends have dealt with mean girls. I always wondered what the psychology is around this phenomenon at such a young age that someone self assigns the role of Queen Bee and then their followers fall in line. It’s scary and fascinating. At one point, after several years of their stares, whispers, and intolerance, I left school before graduating 6th grade and started a new school with kids that welcomed me with kindness and compassion. But going into high school, friendship dynamics change and people can show their true colors. One day while having issues with a friend, I was disappointed and confused and tried to put those feelings into the song Queen Bee.
The short film is a work in progress and we are still working on casting. A lot of the film is based on real life mean girl encounters.
Do you have any more singles planned for release afterwards?
I’m releasing a new single Girl Code on my 15th birthday (11/22) which takes on a lot of friendship challenges that start to come up around this age. I’m also releasing a slow sad song called Darkness Bliss, which is a dramatised story about friendship and loss which should be released on Halloween!
Are there any plans to release an album or EP in the near future?
I want to release an EP at the end of the year, yet the songs are still experimental and varied in style, so I want to make sure it is cohesive and all holds together. I also plan to release an album called Girl Code following the single in the near future!
You’re only 14, yet your music sounds very accomplished! How did you get started in the music industry?
Thank you! I have been acting and performing since I was young. But during the pandemic, I wrote an album and through family and friends, met some amazing producers. Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta are exceptional musicians and emerging producers. It’s been so fun collaborating with them and I feel very lucky to do so.
On Your Mind has a country-pop sound. What/who influences you most as an artist? What have you been listening to recently?
The country flavor came from Nicky and Cormac. I asked for more electric guitar and they wove that in. I love the conversation and process. They were definitely thinking about 70s rock. We have shared a love for the Beatles and Fleetwood Mac as well.
Do you have anything else exciting coming up this year?
We are preparing for some benefit shows in the new year. More to come…
Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?
Not yet! I haven’t performed these songs live ye, so we are rehearsing for that. Just recording, recording, recording so far.
Any last words for the fans?
I’m so grateful for the support, encouragement and honest feedback! It is incredible to have this dialogue with the listeners, particularly when you are just starting out. Just thank you a million.
