Canadian singer-songwriter Sam Drysdale may be fairly new to the music scene, but he’s already making music that will echo down the centuries to come.

Sam’s debut EP is drenched in heartache, and Love & Violence continues that theme. In terms of music, it’s a stripped-down folk song, characteristic of the modern singer-songwriter genre. However, there’s a real passion to be found in the track, especially with the haunting lyrical topic and the emotions carried through the vocals. The guitars go from a fingerpicked fashion on the verses, before turning into an anthemic strumming on the choruses, creating a nice dynamic change. I can’t wait to hear more from Sam in the near future!
