Vancouver, Canada-based artist Rebecca Sichon has made a few appearance on this blog before, going right back to 2021. In September, I shared her track Picking Pearls and now she’s released its follow up. A track about self-love and freeing oneself from restraints, it’s called Breaking Free.

Opening stripped-back and vulnerable, a simple, bluesy guitar riff accompanies Rebecca’s soulful and expressive vocals. As the track progresses, we get a classic RnB arrangement and a bright and cathartic high in the chorus, where the vocals take on a pleading quality. Rebecca truly is a breath-taking performer, and it’s impossible not to fall in love a little bit while listening to her music. She really does have a bright future ahead of her.
