Somehow, we’ve never featured Amanda Palmer’s music before, despite her being a key player in the music industry for decades. Amanda makes her debut on these pages with her new release, Little Island.

Little Island is a single from Palmer’s new EP New Zealand Survival Songs, paying homage to that nation. It’s a stripped-down folk song, seeing Amanda sing with great emotion over the top of the strummed acoustic guitar that characterises this song so well. The guitar is the main instrument played here, although some lovely piano chords arise later on, adding a little variety into the mix. The real stand out feature is Amanda’s vocals – they’re strong and passionate, creating some haunting harmonies when the chorus kicks in. I’ll definitely be featuring more of Amanda’s music in the near future!
