It’s been a long time since we’ve shared new music from British singer-songwriter Beren Olivia, and Drown It In Grey is certainly a return to form!

Drown It In Grey is a pop song of sorts, but it also has elements of indie-pop, pop-punk and pop-rock, colliding genres together in a wonderful way. The verses use a wonderful palm-muted guitar riff, building the energy up until it explodes on the huge chorus, as the riffs take centre stage. Beren’s vocals sound fantastic – the vocal effects are a tad too prominent for me, but her voice still sounds fantastic here. This is a wonderfully catchy piece of work, and one that strays well away from the boring mainstream pop scene.
