Discovery: Iridesense

Iridesense are an American power pop group who have just put themselves on my radar thanks to their first full-band release in eight years. Originally released to coincide with election day in the States, it’s called Take Some Action.

By Graeme Smith

Take Some Action encourages the listener to go after that thing they’ve been striving for, but have grown complacent in its pursuit. It is, of course, a rousing and lively composition, opening with a slow-building and infectious groove full of guitar and passionate vocals. There’s a touch of the timeless about it, corralling retro and modern elements with perfect balance.

Though new to us, Iridesense was formed by brother and sister Rick and Tara Eberle way back in 1993. Joining them are Rich Drouin on drums and vocals, and Rob Viccari on lead guitar. Over their career they’ve featured on TV shows stateside as well as the motion picture Finding Sandler.
