St Ives-based singer songwriter Bailey Tomkinson has featured on this blog a few times before, always delighting with her unique brand of country-infused pop. Her latest sees her taking a break from song-writing duties, and instead giving her unique spin on a little known seasonal tune by John Denver. It’s called Christmas for Cowboys.

Though a cover, Bailey has made Christmas for Cowboys her own with a charismatic performance and some self-producing. Like most of us, she got bored of hearing the same songs this time of year, and I’m grateful she’s adding to the seasonal gamut.
Delicate acoustic guitar sets the early tone before Bailey’s unmistakable vocals come in, delivering John Denver’s image-laden lyrics. You can just picture the snow falling on the prairies as you listen.
