Bailey Tomkinson is a St. Ives-based singer songwriter who I first discovered through her inventive track Skin. She’s now back on the blog with her latest. It’s called Can’t Lose.

Can’t Lose takes things in an indie rock direction for Bailey, with an earworm guitar melody and her characteristic, charismatic and emotive vocals. There’s a beautiful sense of storytelling in the lyrics and the chorus takes an unexpected twist in the sax direction.
Bailey has the kind of song writing ability that you might expect from contemporaries like Sam Fender and Phoebe Bridgers, with not nearly the same level of recognition. Keep an eye on her. She’s going places.
