The last time we shared new music from Geneviève Racette was back in 2019, so it’s great to finally have her back!

Same Old Me is a fantastic return to form – it’s a modern folk song that also mixes in a hint of the indie-folk movement. It’s fairly slow in terms of pace, opening with a subtle yet beautiful sounding fingerpicked acoustic guitar melody. The strings in the background are fairly faint at times, but they add something really atmospheric to the piece. The vocals are the real stand out feature though, seeming incredibly strong and soulful throughout this pretty piece of music!
