Los Angeles, USA-based artist Matya landed on my radar last year with one of my favourite tracks of 2023, Nobody’s Home. Now she’s back with a new one.

Get Your Attention is a shout into the void of today’s world where most of us are trying our best to be heard. Starting stripped-back, it quickly hits an alternative punk stride in the chorus. Matya has such a unique take on the genre, fusing it with elements of pop, and her voice is utterly mesmerising.
Matya has an EP release slated for later this year and, based on the evidence so far, it’s going to make quite the impression. The EP was produced at Catmilk Studios, working with John Velasquez, Dan Bailey, Gabriel Cheurfa, Pierre Duval, and mastered by Mike Marsh.
