Matya is a Los Angeles, USA based artist who has just hit my radar thanks to her new track and video. An invitation to embrace the counterculture and dream through your own “rose coloured lens,” It’s called Nobody’s Home.
By Graeme Smith
Opening gently ambient, Nobody’s Home is the kind of track that has you leaning in straight from the off. Matya’s expressive vocals are immediately engaging as they tell a sultry uplifting and anthemic story of embracing your individuality. As the track progresses, it slowly builds, Reaching a powerful rock crescendo in the chorus that will have you lifting your fist into the air. It truly is something special.
Nobody’s Home will feature on Matya’s upcoming EP, set for release next year. It was produced at Catmilk Studios working with John Velasquez, Dan Bailey, Gabriel Cheufra, and Pierre Duval. It was mastered by Mike Marsh. You can watch the video for Nobody’s Home below.
