Edie Yvonne is a young Los Angeles, USA-based artist who has been lighting up our pages all summer. I first discovered her for this blog in July thanks to her track In The Rain and was impressed by her lyrical maturity. So much so that when she released the follow up On Your Mind, I had to share that one too. Now, she’s back again, this time with a new one that targets mean girls and their minions. It’s called Queen Bee.
By Graeme Smith
Queen Bee is a buzzing pop number with stinging lyrics. Soaring vocal harmonies add depth to Edie’s charismatic lead vocals, and there is a vibrancy to the instrumentals which are utterly enveloping. It’s all over within two minutes, but you get the sense of a much more expansive track given the richness of its production. It might just be Edie’s best one yet.
The track is being released to go along with a short film that Edie is working on. I can’t wait to see it. Queen Bee was produced by Nicky Swedin and Cormac Liotta. You can give it a listen below.
