Interview: Patrick Doval

Recently, I delved into the world of North American artists, with one particular musician jumping out at me: Patrick Doval and his amazing new tune, Back Home. It’s an alt-rock tune with more than a hint of old school punk thrown in for good measure, making for a worthwhile listen. Learn all about the track below!

You recently released a new track titled Back Home. What can you tell us about the track?

Back Home is a song about the daily struggles of life, feeling lost and being stuck in the rat race and trying to find someone who can help you find your way back home. In the music video, I play myself, a struggling musician trying to find his way…

Back Home also features Pete Parada. How did the collaboration come about and would you like to collaborate again with Pete?

I collaborated with Pete Parada on my track Soulless Machine back in 2022 and loved working with him! I simply reached out to him again and was honored to have him playing drums on my track again and yes, look forward to many more collaborations with Pete Parada!

How has the reception to Back Home been so far, and where can it be purchased?

The reception has been wonderful! Thousands of online streams and everyone seems to like the track and the music video! I am very grateful for everyone’s support! You can purchase or stream the song online on all major music platforms from iTunes to Spotify, etc.

Do you have any plans to release an album/EP anytime soon?

It’s in the works but no date yet. Hopefully a release before the end of the year. We shall see…

Do you have any more singles lined up in the near future?

I do, I actually had Pete Parada record drums to an old song of mine, Endless Heartbreak. I will probably be releasing the new version of the song in the near future.

Your music has an old school punk vibe.. What/who are you most influenced by when making music? What have you been listening to recently?

Thank you. I simply love old school music, especially classic rock! When making music, it all depends on my mood and the sound I am going for. On Back Home, it was the musical influences of Billy Idol, The Clash, The Cure, Ramones, Sex Pistols, Iggy Pop etc., but it all truly depends on my mood. I can write songs in various styles and I like to mix it up all the time!

Where are you based? What is the local music scene like in your area?

I am based out of Miami, Florida. The local music scene has grown immensely down here. Rock/punk/indie is still much underappreciated though, but the young kids are coming around to it.

Do you have anything else exciting coming up over the next few months?

Look out for a release of Endless Heartbreak with Pete Parada on drums in the next few months!

Do you have any tour dates lined up for the UK?

Unfortunately, I currently have no tour dates planned in the UK but hopefully in the near future.

Any last words for the fans?

Thank you so much for all the great support you’ve all given me on my latest single Back Home! It’s been a dream come true and I am forever grateful! Love you all!
