It feels a lifetime ago that the word was in lockdown and the hugs and closeness of family and friends seemed like a far-off dream.
Many still have to be careful, many bear the scars of the pandemic and the long term effects of this on us all is yet to be realised.
Miranda Sykes’ new album Out of the Woods is a collection of songs that have seen Miranda through her own journey of isolation, illness and recovery, and aims to brings listeners as much comfort as they did her over the past few turbulent years.
“Life is many faceted; like most people I’ve had good times and hard times. I’ve taken some forks in the road I shouldn’t have done and I’ve had some knocks, but it’s all part of who I am now. I am blessed that I feel that I am in a place where my “planets are aligning” and I am at peace with myself and my place in the world. Out Of The Woods reflects this journey, with its ups and downs, through a collection of powerful and personal songs, sung from the heart that I would like to share with you.”
The tour comes to The Black Swan in York on May 23rd.
