Campfire sees Dan Whitehouse perform live at Real World Studio in a track that encourages us to look past race, borders and flags.

Dan’s music first featured on this blog last year when I reviewed his collaboration with Max ZT, Ten Steps and it’s great to have him back on the blog with his new effort. Live performances are always notable for their intimacy and Dan makes the most of it through powerfully understated vocals and gripping lyrics. Accompanying himself on piano and guitar, he slowly builds atmosphere, arriving at a stirring conclusion.
From the start of June, Dan will be on tour, meaning you have a chance to see him perform in person. Kicking off at The Plough Arts Centre in Barnstaple, he’ll be coming near these parts on 19 July at Settle Stories and on 3 October at The Ropewalk in Barton-upon-Humber. Full dates can be found here. On some dates he will be joined by Swedish multi-instrumentalist Gustaf Ljunggren.
Campfire is out now and you can check out the live performance, taken from Dan’s solo show A Night Of Glass, below.
