Irish singer-songwriter Dave McKendry is a new discovery of mine, but if Drugs is anything to go by, I’m sure we’ll be sharing more of his stuff in the near future!

As you might expect from a song with this title, Drugs is a trippy indie-folk tune with hints of the pop and rock scenes also thrown in for good measure. It’s really upbeat, featuring a constant drum beat that is matched by the luscious guitar melodies and pulsating basslines. Dave has a good voice, with this track seeing him croon his way through the music with great power, singing his heart out on the chorus of the tune.
