EP Review: Autorub – The Miss Mace Mixes (432hz)

Autorub have garnered much praise over the past couple of years, due to the amazing music they’re created in that time. They’ve recently released a short two track EP, showcasing their skills off in grand fashion. That EP is titled The Miss Mace Mixes (432hz), and we’ve got a nice little review for you to kick off your weekend!

Autorub have something of a chamber pop sound to their music, if the tracks on The Miss Mace Mixes (432hz) are anything to go by! The main single from the record is the first song, Miss Mace 432Hz, and it’s a great introduction to Autorub’s sound if you’re new to the band. The piano acts as the main form of instrumentation here, pulsating along in lovely style with the rhythm section, adding a cool atmosphere to the track. The vocals are on point and will have you singing along in no time, and there’s a pretty cool guitar solo towards the end of the tune too!

Next up is final track, Electronic Dance Mace 432hz. It’s got a similar sound to the previous song, which will no doubt hook you in on the very first listen. Several synth melodies appear, crossing over each over in a cool way, really drawing your attention to the piece. A set of chugging riffs appear after a while, providing a heavier contrast to the melodic sound the track has. It’s essentially a reworking of the first song on the record, but it’s different enough to warrant listening to.

It’s always good to hear a band trying something different, which Autorub certainly do on The Miss Mace Mixes (432hz). It’s the sort of record that will appeal to listeners of multiple genres too, so it’s definitely worth giving a go!
