Katie is a Melbourne, Australia-based indie-folk and bedroom pop artist, and guitarist of All Our Exes Live in Texas. She’s been releasing solo work since 2020 and has now made it onto our radar with her latest single, Real Thing.
It’s a joyful, uplifting track that comes out of a genre more famous for its melancholy. Things start stripped-back and pensive before gradually building in brightness. Katie’s vocals are instantly compelling in their charismatic delivery, and her lyrics are relatable as they celebrate love and life with all its rough edges. Production that comes from Katie’s partner makes it all the more real.
