Dutch musician ROEL manages to mix a modern pop sensibility with the attitude of the pop-punk sound, making something utterly unique on the grind.

The first thing you should know about the grind is that it’s undeniably catchy – the main melody throbs along with the bassline and drums, getting stuck straight into your head. The chorus elevates the energy a little more, making the guitars sound much more prominent, following a similar chord sequence to the verses but also adding in some cool synth lines. ROEL has a good voice too – he does use some autotune effects here, but it works really well with the tone, so there’s nothing to worry about for vocal purists! Why not give the grind a go below?
