With her timeless sound, Berlin-based singer songwriter Deray Barboros has captured my attention through her new track, Arms.

They don’t write them like they used to. Or, in fact, they do if you look in the right places. One such place is the songbook of Deray Barboros whose classic folk and country new track Arms is a profoundly observed story of unreliable love. Its instrumental provides atmosphere aplenty, but it’s Deray’s voice and lyrics that are the star of the show. I was mesmerised.
Inspired by the greats of the ’60s and ’70s, and exploring universal themes such as love, vulnerability, heartbreak, and our connection to nature, Deray has all she needs to find an international audience. I can’t wait to hear more from her!
Arms is out now and you can listen to it below.
