Experimental artist Genevieve Sovereign returns to our pages with her most boundary-pushing effort yet, Square Root -1.

Melbourne, Australia-based songwriter, composer and vocalist Genevieve Sovereign has been appearing on this blog since the start of last year. Jane included her track Vibration Angle in her Monthly Favourites round up, and followed that up with an interview. Since then, I’ve shared two of her tracks, and now here’s a third.
Square Root -1 is a wonderfully out there piece. Offbeat percussion starts things off, joined by industrial elements and rapped/spoken word vocals. A cosmic brilliance shines over it all, drawing us into the mystery of its lyrics that speak of alternative dimensions, the metaphysical, and existentialism.
The track will feature on Genevieve’s upcoming STARSEEDS WANTED: enquire within album. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
