Swiss composer duo Steyl return to these pages with a song that’s completely unexpected – Le Jeu Fougueux.

Le Jeu Fougueux is extremely different to anything Steyl have produced before – instead of being a straight up epic classical tune, it also incorporates elements of pop, r&b, baroque music and Latin pop into the mix. And everything works so well, showing just how talented these guys really are. Don’t worry – they’ve not put down their instruments for synths – instead, the stringed instruments are used in an effective and ingenious way, providing the main melody and rhythm of the tune. This is one of the best things I’ve heard all year!
