A San Diego, USA-based singer songwriter, Tamar’s music has appeared on our blog once before. I recently shared her album Good Times For a Change which reflects on life post-grief.

That’s Not a Lie features on the album and now comes complete with a video.

With the song dwelling on uncomfortable truths, Tamar wanted the video to give a sense of interrogation and accusation, tempering it with the comfort and safety that comes with finding those who love and accept you. The video opens with Tamar sat before the camera, looking on edge. Interspersing it are images of her performing and “being labelled.” Paired with a tense first verse, it’s highly effective, and makes the catharsis of the soaring pop rock chorus all the more powerful.
