I’m always on the lookout for new music with a fresh sound, so I was particularly overjoyed to discover Vicki Lovelee and her new tune, Double Edged Sword.

Double Edged Sword is a pop song that seems to take a lot of influence from the classical and musical theatre disciplines. It features many of the hallmarks of the modern pop/r&b scenes, but the chorus seems to use a classical background, raising Vicki’s vocals up into a glorious crescendo, made complete with several lovely vocal harmonies. It’s an undeniably catchy tune, but there’s so much more going on here than just standard pop music, making for one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time!
