The Rotor Delta is the musical project of Jimmy Green, an artist based just over the Humber estuary in Lincoln. Drawing on classic folk singer songwriters, he’s just come to my attention with his latest single, Howling at the Moon.
By Graeme Smith
As well as drawing inspiration from ’80s and ’90s rock, for this project in particular, Jimmy was inspired by folk legends like Neil Young, Nick Drake, and Bob Dylan. Howling at the Moon is about facing life’s challenges head-on and gives us an immediate sense of atmosphere through its timeless folk rock arrangement. Jimmy’s vocal is beautifully expressive throughout and things end triumphantly with some wailing guitar.
Howling at the Moon was recorded at Blue Box Studio, Lincoln by Jimmy who also wrote and produced the track. It’s out now and you can check out its pop culture reference-filled video below.
