Onism E long for home in wistful new track

Influenced by the likes of Brandi Carlile, Chrissie Hynde and Tom Petty, Onism E are an American indie rock band consisting of Elina Chavez, Gabe Chavez, and Andre Atalaya.

By Graeme Smith

They’ve appeared a few times before on this blog. Jane interviewed them in 2022 after sharing their track It’s Not Over to her Singing the Blues round up. In 2024, I ran the rule over their track I’m Sorry.

Their latest Call You Home captures the yearning for home in a world that’s increasingly hostile. There’s a gentle wistfulness about its composition, pairing acoustic folk elements with soft rock to build atmosphere. Elina’s voice perfectly captures the mood of its lyrics during a stripped-back verse before things become pleading during a standout chorus.

Call You Home was recorded at Ramble Creek studios in Austin, Texas, engineered by Britton Beisenherz. It was produced and mixed by Eline Chavez and Tucker Allen. The single is out now and you can give it a listen below.
